It has a large, backlit, full dot-matrix display to show real-time vessel traffic information, to aid navigation and collision avoidance. 

This is a compact, waterproof transponder that acitvely notifies other vessels of your exact position, increasing your safety at sea. This unit can work independently or connect with a computer or other marine network equipment. If this unit is connected to a compatible Icom VHF radio, an individual DSC call can be made easily from the MA-500TR.
