Product Description

The Mototrbo DM4601e two-way radio is Motorola's suggested replacement for the DM4601, which is no longer manufactured.

This is an ETSI DMR Standards-compliant digital radio that offers crystal clear digital audio, with a loud, front-facing speaker and Intelligent Audio to automatically adjust volume according to your environment.

Usability is enhanced with:

  • a large, full-colour 5-line display
  • A flexible, menu driven interface
  • Intuitive, easy-to-use icons and navigation buttons

The DM4601e has an extensive range of advanced features that will appeal to professional users, including integrated GPS, Bluetooth data connectivity, text messaging, programmable functions for emergency alerts and enhanced privacy and Transmit Interrupt for critical communications. 

Capacity Plus enables you to expand your Mototrbo system for large numbers of users at a single site, while IP Site Connect allows you to connect up to 15 sites over a wide area for truly extensive voice and data capabilities.

Question: does the radio come with motorola programming software? If not, what is the cost??
Answer:

Thank you for your product question.

Unfortunately the radio does not come complete with the CPS software, you would need to purchase this on it's own. The programming software is £69.00 plus VAT.

Question: I'm looking for a communications solution for a vehicle fleet operating in Africa. Locations may vary accross the continent. All platforms within the fleet (upto 100) must be able to operate on the same channel and multiple channel options is a requirement. Is this product fit for purpose?
Answer:

Thank you for the question.

This radio would not be fit for purpose, as it would not be able to communicate with each other all over Africa. A radio that would work is the Hytera MNC360. This is a push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) radio, so it will work across the continent with a SIM card. We can also offer a monthly subscription plan for a SIM card called Connect Plus.
